Joyful NYC Elopement

A Winter Wonderland for Ana Sofia and Wilmar

NYC elopement drawing a heart on a car

Ana Sofia and Wilmar’s NYC elopement session was nothing short of magical. The snowfall seemed to come down just for them, transforming the day into a whimsical winter wonderland. Young love has a special kind of spark, and theirs shone brightly throughout every moment. Having been best friends for years before becoming partners, their connection was effortless and deeply rooted. It was an honor to witness and capture their love story.

Trust and Creativity: A Photographer’s Dream

As their photographer, I felt incredibly grateful for the trust they placed in me. Ana Sofia and Wilmar wanted their session to be creative and artistic, reflecting their own personalities. They told me, “We trust you. Just tell us what to do and what you see.” That trust allowed us to fully relax and simply enjoy the experience. We played, laughed, and embraced the moment—it was a photographer’s dream.

From Coffee Shop Snuggles to City Hall

We began the session in a cozy coffee shop, a setting that perfectly matched their warm and intimate vibe with comfortable couches and greenery all around. They cuddled on the couch, sharing quiet moments and stolen glances. The coffee shop’s charm added a personal and inviting touch to their photos.

From there, we strolled to city hall, finding spots in the street where we could make portraits and be creative. We even found a park nearby where I asked them if they wanted to have a snowball fight, which I knew they would. They were game and I was so happy to be working with such fun-loving and spontaneous people who weren't afraid to get a bit messy and just have fun.

Personalizing Your Elopement

One piece of advice I always give for elopements is to incorporate your personalities and the things you love into your day. Ana Sofia and Wilmar’s session is a perfect example of this. By weaving in their favorite places and their playful energy, their photos authentically reflected who they are as a couple. While standing under some scaffolding, Ana Sofia had the idea to climb up for a fun photo. They two of them were sitting like two love birds sitting in the concrete jungle where they have built their nest. When your day feels natural and easy, your photos will too. And that’s exactly what these two best friends in love achieved: a relaxed, meaningful, and magical day.

Here’s to more love stories like theirs!
